    Paper Mache

Years ago in Winnipeg I had dabbled in pottery. It all began with classes and progressed to having my own wheel and kiln. There was nothing so enjoyable as passing the time away at the wheel. I truly loved it. Well the move to Toronto ended up with the sale of all my pottery supplies and the end of pottery for 17 years. This spring I took another pottery class here in town and was delighted to feel the clay again. However at this time it is not a practical hobby as you cannot buy clay or any pottery supplies or equipment in Thunder Bay. One must travel to Winnipeg or the States for this. To feed my appetite for creativity I began to experiment with paper mache. Hmmmm well the last time I did that was in public school so, well a long time ago. Anyway I love it and am having a great time creating away. My imagination is running wild with the possibilities and having enough time is the only issue. Farm and chores do come first.  So will see where it goes and have posted a few pictures of some completed or almost completed projects.

Very impressive!!  I hope one day to be able to take some pottery classes offered through the community center.  For now, I get to keep busy with the kids.  It takes the right kind of person to be able to sit down and create such beautiful peices. You must be very talented.  Maybe the kids and I will pull out the Play-doh today and make some creations of our own!!   Hope your day is treating you well!

    Hi Michael :-)
These are wonderful!  You are quite the creative soul.  Time is a rare luxury on a farm isn't it!
I think you probably went through LCVI a couple years ahead of me.  I graduated grade 13 in 1977 and I'm not surprised you didn't recognize me.  I look very different these many years later!  Plus I was very quiet and shy in high school.  I didn't recognize you either from your photo so it seems we probably wandered the halls for a couple of the same years but travelled in different circles.  I have long ago tossed my Tatlers so I couldn't even look up all the Michaels! <laugh>
I hope all the dogs are still okay and not showing any after effects of their chocolate binge!
Take care and have a wonderful Sunday!
    Barb :-)
