Black Forest CakeIt is actually quite hillarious how many people who try this cake believe it is a scratch cake. Because it starts with a cake mix base it's super easy, very moist and very tasty.
1 box of a deluxe chocolate cake mix (with pudding in the mix)
3 well beaten large eggs
1 tablespoon almond extract
1 can of cherry pie filling
1 cup of semi sweet chocolate chips
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl. Mix well.
Pour cake batter into a well greased Bundt pan.
Bake in preheated 350F oven for 45 to 50 minutes or until tester comes out clean.
Cool for 25 minutes in the pan before turning out onto a rack to cool completely. Wonderfull served with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
If I know the whole cake is to be eaten I will decorate it with whipped cream and cherries otherwise it is served on the side. I have also done a Irish Cream chocolate icing which is very nice and just substitute the liquor for the milk when making the icing.
